we grew up listening to miriam makeba's soulful voice, but i really haven't thought much about her in years. until today. it's international women's day, and it would have been her 79th birthday a few days ago is she were still alive. she was an amazing woman, spreading south african love and her message for peace and anti-apartheid activism around the globe through her music. i especially love the album she did in conjunction with norwegian musicians, it's magic.
